Area(s) with issue?

Workspaces

Steps to reproduce

When creating a workspace, I asked it to create a shortcut for the workspace on my desktop.

Later, when I renamed the workspace, it created a new shortcut instead of modifying the old shortcut. (See PTScreenshot1.jpg)

✔️ Expected Behavior

It should either modify the existing shortcut, or it should delete the existing shortcut and create a new shortcut.

❌ Actual Behavior

It created a new shortcut instead of modifying the old shortcut.

Update: I just realized that it is indeed deleting the old shortcut and creating a new shortcut. However, the desktop is not refreshed and so it is showing both the shortcuts (as you can see in my screenshot above).

However, the older shortcut (named Workspace1 in my screenshot) isn't actually there. When I double-clicked on it, it said that the shortcut does not exist. Also, the older shortcut disappeared when I refreshed the desktop.

So, if possible, PowerToys needs to refresh the desktop after deleting the old shortcut.

You are right, the desktop icons are correctly deleted/created upon renaming a workspace.
The desktop gets refreshed by the system and it takes some time, we have the same experience. That is a Windows system behaviour, we have no impact on it. I will close this issue, you might open a new one against the OS or just accept this delay. Thanks
