During World War II he worked for the Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park, Britain's codebreaking center that produced Ultra intelligence. For a while Turing led Hut 8, the section responsible for German naval cryptanalysis. RM2T0H9GC–Tommy Flowers Blue Plaque for his WWII work in designing and building the worlds first electronic thermionic valve programable computer, Colossus, at the Post Offices Research Laboratories in Dollis Hill London. This was demonstrated in 1943 then later transferred to Bletchley Park where it assisted the war effort. When the Post Office Research Laboratories closed they were converted to flats, Chartwell Court.
