A startup called Meat is striving to dominate mushrooms in the vegan meat industry by using fermented mycelium develop alternatives to meat.
Meati provides an impressive amount of nutrients, including protein and lots of fiber. The startup also claims to be less sodium and saturated fats than its competitors.
Tyler Huggin, the co-founder of Meati, said, “Meati provides a nutritionally dense whole food protein, but uses a small fraction of the ingredients used in most plant-based meats – the end product is essentially just mycelium with a seasoning. We are excited to begin testing with key customers in early 2022, and from there we will strategically scale across all channels to make Meati more available and accessible to consumers nationwide.
These mycelium-based products deliver delicious flavors and realistic alternatives to real meat, even being able to look and feel like meat when cut or cubed.
This vegan meat is expected to open up the vegan meat market even further, giving customers more options that are even healthier and more realistic.
